FLORIDA TO RECEIVE $800 MILLION FROM U.S. DOT |
This week's broadcast of the High Speed Rail News Channel features an announcement from Senator Bill Nelson saying Florida is to receive an additional $800 million from the U.S. DOT for the high speed rail line between Tampa and Orlando.
Additionally, Tampa's Mayor Pam Iorio speaks on how a sales tax increase in Hillsborough County could connect the region to the high speed rail station planned for downtown Tampa. The Orlando International Airport has unveiled plans for its intermodal terminal to connect four types of rail systems. In California, U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner says the state's $40 billion high speed rail system would be money well-spent. |
